Volunteering at Goddards
Here at Goddards we have a growing team of talented volunteers who help make sure our guests get the most out of their visit. Volunteers also play a key role in allowing us to look for new and exciting ways to develop this fledgling property - and we're always looking for more. Whether you've got green fingers, a friendly face, or a talent for story-telling, we can put your skills to good use.
Along the way you'll get some great experience, meet people from all walks of life and make a difference to one of York's most significant historic properties. There are plenty of ways to get involved, whether behind the scenes or front of house, so keep an eye on this page for any upcoming opportunities.
Our knowledgeable Room Guides are essential in bringing Goddards to life and provide the first port of call for our visitors. They chat to guests about the fascinating life of the Terry family, encouraging them to share their own memories of the property whilst ensuring the safety and protection of the house and its contents.
Tea Room Host
Our friendly Tea Room Hosts help recreate the warm and inviting atmosphere of the old Terry dining room, whilst offering great customer service to guests. Most of all, the Tea Room Hosts enjoy sharing stories about this intimate environment, explaining the role of food and fine dining in the Terry household.
Our team of dedicated gardeners are responsible for the maintenance and development of the formal and informal gardens at Goddards. Their role often involves traditional gardening activities such as planting new trees and flowers, pruning seasonal borders or moving the lawn.
Be part of an incredible team
