Imposing five-storey drainage windpump

The striking windpump provides stunning views over the coast and broadland landscape.

Set within the Broads National Park, the Horsey estate is an internationally important site for wildlife and offers a great spot for birdwatching and wintering wildfowl.

Horsey Estate is managed by the Buxton family, from whom it was acquired.

During the great gales of 1987 Horsey Windpump succumbed to the extreme weather conditions and the cap was severely damaged.

Repair work was carried out and the windpump was reopened to the public in 1990.

A small shop and refreshments can be found close to the windpump with toilets facilities in the nearby car park.
