Best orchid display at Badbury Rings for 30 years
Up to 11 varieties of wild orchid have appeared at Badbury Rings, the most our rangers have seen on the Iron Age hill fort.
The warmer winter and spring has led to an explosion in the numbers and varieties of wild flowers on the site. These include a number of rare orchids that should be on display until the end of July, including the common spotted orchid alongside the greater butterfly, bee, pyramid, fragrant and common twayblade.
