Low Wray campsite has recently gained a Gold Award from Cumbria Business Environment Network (CBEN).
Watch the sun rise over England's largest lake and enjoy the magnificent views across the water to Wansfell Pike and The Fairfield Horseshoe.
Situated on the western shore of Windermere, Low Wray is the perfect base for a whole range of outdoor activities. There are opportunities for gentle walks and great off-road biking from the campsite. The quiet country lanes will also prove attractive to cycle tourers. Low Wray is an ideal base for lovers of watersports including windsurfers, canoeists and dinghy sailors, with on-site access for launching. Please note however that there is no access for powered craft.

Two great Lakeland pubs lie within a two mile radius of the site providing excellent pub food. Ambleside and Hawkshead are just a few minutes drive away, Hill Top and the Beatrix Potter Gallery (both NT) are also a short drive or an excellent walk away. Low Wray is close to all central Lakes attractions including several NT Houses and Gardens.
How to get there
By bus: Bus service 505/506, the Coniston Rambler from Ambleside or Windermere can drop you within a mile of the site. For timetable information, call Traveline on 0871 200 22 33 or visit www.traveline.org.uk
By road: Take the A593 from Ambleside, turn left at Clappersgate onto the B5286. Turn left at the sign for Wray. The site is less than one mile on the left.
