The original 'Gondola', a re-built Victorian steam yacht, was first launched in 1859 and now, completely rebuilt by the National Trust, gives passengers the chance to sail in her sumptuous, upholstered saloons. This is the perfect way to view Coniston's spectacular scenery. Sail to Monk Coniston jetty at the north of the lake, then walk through the Monk Coniston garden on to Tarn Hows. Circular walk four miles. All sailings are subject to weather conditions

| Last sailing at 3:30 (April, May, September and October), 4:30 (June to August). The National Trust reserves the right to cancel sailings and special charters in the event of high winds. In the event of cancellation due to adverse weather conditions, private charters or unforeseen operational difficulties, every reasonable effort will be made to inform the public. Piers at Coniston, Monk Coniston and Brantwood (not National Trust). Last admission 30 minutes before closing. |
