Bring your dogs here for a lovely walk in our grounds

We love dogs and they're more than welcome to explore the gardens and estate with you.

Although the house, gallery shop, café and walled garden are just for humans, there are plenty of walks in the gardens and our wider estate for you to enjoy with your canine companion.

So that everyone can enjoy their time with us, we ask that you please keep your dog on a lead at all times. Thank you.

Walking etiquette

Dogs are welcome in most places but we ask that you keep dogs on a short lead at all times while you visit. There are a few places we ask you not to take dogs. Download our dog guide for more information.

Tasty treats

Billy and Margot dog ice cream is availbe here in the summer

We've dog friendly seating areas outside the Kitchen Café and ice-cream parlour, offering shelter from the weather and water bowls. Treat your canine friend to ‘doggy’ ice-cream from the ice-cream parlour.

Our estate is the perfect place to explore and roam more freely. If you fancy a longer walk with your dog (off the lead), visit Sprearywell wood. The woodland is a 3 minute drive (15 minute walk) from the Visitor car park. Spearywell wood has a car park and is signalled with markers offering a short or longer walk (up to 3 miles) . Please ask a member of the Visitor Reception team for more information and directions.
