A romantic house and gallery set in beautiful riverside gardens

Ancient trees, bubbling brooks and rolling lawns frame this lovely old house. Crafted from a medieval priory, it is full of surprises, with art that intrigues and delights. Come back throughout the year to see different exhibitions in the gallery and the latest installations by our artists in residence.

Carpets of spring bulbs, a stunning walled rose garden, rich autumn leaves and a colourful winter garden make Mottisfont a feast for the senses all year round.

Current exhibition

Quentin Blake & Friends

One of the nation’s best-loved artists comes to Mottisfont this summer in a new exhibition of work by Quentin Blake and other leading contemporary children’s illustrators.  See here for more information.

To celebrate, we have a special Mottisfont Golden Ticket competition on our social media. Click the link below to find out more.

Well worth a look...

The lavender at Mottisfont is bursting into life, creating a sea of purple and filling the air with beautiful fragrance.

You will find lavender dotted around the grounds, but we recommend you follow the scent to the north section of the walled garden, and then on to the café to try our tasty lavender shortbread.

A Place for Art

Discover great art this year at Mottisfont

Our new art project is being headed by Louise O'Reilly, a visual artist and illustrator. During her residency she will be fulfilling an early childhood ambition of becoming a medieval illuminator.

Keep up to date with her progress here.
