No more this year but watch this space for 2015 when we will offer a small number of places on a rare expedition to spend a whole day working up close to the unique Cold War AWRE structures. You will be accompanied by rangers from the site and a professional photographer who has been photographing the site for many years.
Our volunteers from the Landguard Bird Observatory catch and ring birds as part our surveying work. The bird ringers are available during some open days to demonstrate how they do this. You can see how birds are caught safely, rung and recorded, and released. Although this work carries on throughout the year there will be no more demonstrations until 2015.
A very special chance to photograph Orford Ness in the morning and evening light, with the rest of Saturday available to continue photographing up until the last ferry off the Ness at 5pm. You will be guided and supervised by rangers from the site and a professional photographer who has been photographing the site for many years.
