Discover Nostell’s grand interiors, remarkable collections, and Chippendale treasures in an 18th Century house rich with history, design, and craftsmanship. Last entry to the house is at 3:15pm.

Explore vibrant gardens featuring a tranquil lake, colourful borders, a working kitchen garden, rose garden, apple orchard, and an enchanting menagerie garden with historic features.
Parkland
Discover 300 acres of parkland, free for everyone to enjoy. Ancient woodlands, wildflower meadows, and family-friendly spaces including den building areas, wild play zones, picnic spots and two dedicated 1km bike trails.
Courtyard café
The café is open daily from 9am, serving hot meals, drinks, and snacks made with seasonal produce from the kitchen garden. Children’s lunch boxes are also available. On weekends and during holidays, our Grab & Go outlet offers drinks, light bites, snacks, and ice cream - perfect for a quick treat on the go.
Shop
Browse our shop for locally made gifts, homeware, sweets, plants, and toys - including handcrafted ranges by talented local artists. You’ll find us in the courtyard, just beside the garden entrance
Woodland play area
Let imaginations run wild in the woodland play area, where younger adventurers can climb, slide, swing, and explore. Older children can take on rope bridges, wobble paths, a tower climb, and the thrilling 30-metre zip wire.
Second-hand bookshop
Browse pre-loved thrillers, cookbooks, children’s stories, and autobiographies in the charming second-hand bookshop, set within Nostell’s historic Stables. All proceeds from book donations help support vital conservation work across the estate.

About Nostell
Nostell's Georgian house is home to a huge collection, including six of the "125 Treasures" explored in the Trust's recent book. Discover the detail of our globally-renowned dolls' house alongside a wealth of mastercrafts including decorative interiors by Robert Adam, one of the first long case clocks made by John Harrison and world-class collection of Chippendale furniture.
Nostell's 300 acres of gardens and parkland include wildflower meadows, rippling lakes and majestic woodland, from the winding paths of the menagerie garden to the regimented beds in the working kitchen garden that supplies the courtyard cafe. Entry charges apply to the gardens - see price tab for details.
The gardens are home to the adventure play area (charges apply - see above). Retail therapy is on offer in the courtyard shop seven days a week and the secondhand book shop as many days as possible.
History
History of Nostell
Nostell is a place shaped by centuries of change. From its origins as a Roman settlement and medieval priory to the ambitious 18th-century vision of the Winn family, the estate tells a rich story of power, taste and transformation. Today, visitors can explore a Palladian house with interiors by James Paine and Robert Adam, alongside one of the finest collections of Thomas Chippendale furniture in the country.
