800 years to the day since the sealing of Magna Carta at Runnymede, there will be a celebration here in the meadow. We'll have a ticketed official ceremony in the morning, followed by an afternoon of picnics and politics.
Art memorial exhibit

Together with Surrey County Council, we've commissioned British artist Hew Locke to produce a new permanent public artwork commemorating Magna Carta. It will be unveiled in the meadow on the day of the anniversary.

At 3pm on the day before the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta, there will be a nationwide event. People all across the country will sit down and have tea to celebrate, debate or reflect on their freedoms and rights.
Magna Carta river pageant
Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June
Watch as the Queen’s row barge Gloriana leads a flotilla of about 200 craft of all shapes and sizes in a ‘spectacular’ river event along the Thames from Hurley to Runnymede.
Sunday 28 June, 8.30am-7.30pm
To mark this important constitutional anniversary, this year you will be able to watch the regatta for free from the meadows. Races will run between Magna Carta Island and Ankerwycke Priory every 3 minutes throughout the day.
