Palladian mansion and world-famous landscape garden
When Stourhead first opened in the 1740s, a magazine described it as ‘a living work of art’. The world-famous landscape garden has at its centrepiece a magnificent lake reflecting classical temples, mystical grottoes, and rare and exotic trees, and offers a day of fresh air and discovery.

Enjoy a tranquil walk around the lake before sitting down to a three course meal in our restaurant to celebrate the season. Relax with family and friends whilst enjoying the beauty of this world-famous place.
Bring your dog
After 4pm from 1 March - 31 October dogs are welcome in the landscape garden on short fixed leads. We simply ask that you clear up after your dog and use any of the bins provided.
