Area of classic Yorkshire Dales countryside

Along the Upper Wharfe Valley the characteristic dry-stone walls and barns of the Dales, important flower-rich hay meadows, beautiful riverside and valleyside woodland combine to create a wonderful place to relax and explore the great outdoors.

Tour de France 2014

Stage one of the Grand Depart route weaves right through the Dales past our campsite. Not only will you have a front row seat, there’ll be a hog roast, bar and a big screen so you don’t miss any of the action. We'll also have a large car park on Saturday, for £10 a day (cash only please), but make sure you're there well before the road closes at 5am

Yorkshire Dales Appeal

Human intervention has shaped this natural landscape over centuries, with native species and habitats suffering as a result. We're working to recreate natural habitats for native species, and bring back traditional farming techniques.
