20 July and 7 August
Explore the beach at Birling Gap at low tide with our expert and see if you can find all the weird and wonderful creatures that live here. Whether it's colourful starfish, tiny crabs, stuck-fast limpets or even some jellyfish, you could discover a whole new world out there....
Go wild at Morden Hall Park
You can try out an incredible 35 of our 50 things activities at Morden Hall Park - 125 acres of parkland in the heart of South London.
Join the Ranger’s club on 22 July, 12 August and 19 August, hire a recumbent bike, or cycle the 14 mile Wandle Trail – the perfect way for families and children to enjoy the outdoors.
The Great Big Tree Climb
Two friendly instructors help all ages reach new heights in one of The Vyne’s huge oak trees. Learn how to enter a tree's canopy using ropes, knots and karabiners, whilst being securely attached in a harness. There are amazing views from the top, and if you're feeling brave you can take the zip wire back down.
Break the world record
Come to Polesden Lacey and help us try to break the world record for the most people rolling down a hill at once. It's one of the 50 things activities and we will be submitting it to the Guinness Book of Records. The hill at Polesden Lacey has a smooth gradient, and we’re hoping there will be a mass roll from people of all ages.
Beasts and butterflies at Hughenden
Kids get the chance to be nature detectives on a series of fun-packed guided walks with the rangers around Hughenden's country estate. Be prepared to meet some rather strange creatures.
The Special Ten Challenge
Nymans is setting kids a special ’50 things’ challenge this summer. Complete ten of the tasks in one day and you’ll receive a unique scrapbook certificate. Nyman’s extensive gardens, meadows and woodland make it the perfect location for outdoors adventures; choose from geocaching and bug hunting, den building and animal tracking, to name just four.
50 things big time at Stowe
You can tick off more than 30 of the 50 things challenge in the huge landscaped gardens at Stowe, with fine views, temples and lakeside paths. Created in the 18th century, when people travelled far and wide to marvel at its awesome scale and splendour, Stowe still takes the breath away today. It’s the perfect place to walk, play and let imaginations run free.
Beach safaris at East Head
If the crowds at West Wittering are too much to contend with, walk a little further and you’ll find beautiful sand dunes and a quieter vibe at East Head. The ranger team are bringing their Dune Bug vehicle down to the beach this summer, where they’ll be introducing families to East Head Safaris and all the 50 things challenges kids can attempt in the dunes, from mini beast hunts to wild art. Weekends and Wednesdays during the holidays.
