A place for everyone

Over our history, we've acquired a wide range of fascinating, and often surprising, places that you can now visit and enjoy. From the humble Alfriston Clergy House (our first house) to the grand houses of Edwardian socialites, by way of caves, lighthouses, gardens, pubs, beaches, castles and abbeys (to name but a few).

We're confident that we have something that everyone will enjoy, whether they're history buffs or adrenaline junkies

Houses & buildings

Experience life below stairs, a mill during the industrial revolution or imagine attending an elegant soiree. We aim to bring our houses and buildings to life, and to ensure your visit is enjoyable as possible.

Gardens & parks

Take a stroll through a landscaped garden designed by 'Capability' Brown, or enjoy the deer in one of our medieval deer-parks. Our gardens and parks are a riot of colour year round, and a haven for wildlife and nature.

Coast & countryside

Fresh air and a gentle stroll is good for the soul, and when combined with stunning scenery, it becomes great. We care for hundreds of acres of countryside for you to explore by foot, bike, horse or even by kayak.

Collections

Discover the wealth of our collections - from great art treasures and working steam engines, to vases and chamber pots and all the weird and wonderful in between.

Sites & monuments

We care for some of Britain's most iconic and historic monuments. Stone circles, Cornish tin mines and even the Cerne Abbas are under our care, and accessible for you to visit.
