Family friendly

We run family friendly activities throughout the school holidays including art and craft sessions, den building workshops and outdoor challenges such as bug hunting. Most activities are free and are drop-in sessions which run regardless of the weather.

In 2014 we will be hosting different themes to give visitors a deeper insight into our conservation work. These include 'Ships', 'Pests' and 'Fading of the Light'. Look at our event listings for more information.

We're running a variety of exciting events and activities during the festive period, from workshops to living history and of course, the arrival of Father Christmas.

Carol singing

Sunday 7 December, 3.15-4.30pm

Get into the Christmas spirit at Arlington and join South Molton Town Band for carol singing in the stable yard at the Carriage Museum.

Victorian Christmas

Step back in time to 1883 and meet our costumed volunteers in the grounds.

Saturday 13 December, 11am-3.30pm

Meet the Victorian staff getting the house and gardens ready for Christmas. Learn how many modern traditions date back to the Victorian times. Also try your hand at making festive decorations.

New Year's Eve walk

Winter walking in the countryside

Wednesday 31 December, 11am-1pm

Enjoy a guided walk through the winter estate and say goodbye to 2014. Dogs on leads welcome. £1 suggested donation per person. Please note the tea-room and shop will be closed at this time. Meet at visitor reception.
