Eating & shopping
Our four catering units within our grounds are there for you whatever you fancy - whether you want locally-reared sausage and chips from the Greedy Pig, a sumptuous afternoon tea at Lady Berwick's or cake and a cuppa at the Carriage House Café or Mansion Tea-room. With many of our ingredients grown here in the Walled Garden, and all our cakes baked fresh on site, it doesn't get much more homemade than this.
Presents, plants and produce
If you love shopping, a visit to any of the three shops within our grounds is a great way to find unusual gifts and reminders of your visit to Attingham. Our second-hand bookshop Groom's Rooms is a bookworm's paradise, and themed products in the Butler's Pantry will make you feel like you've stepped back in time. Why not take home a souvenir of Attingham from our main shop - which also sells freshly-picked produce from our Walled Garden and locally-grown plants.
The Greedy Pig is our newest catering unit, situated in the Shoulder of Mutton playfield, next to the Orchard and Walled Garden. It's perfect for families grabbing food on the go and for dog-walkers, offering free-range locally supplied sausage and chips cooked in cold pressed rape seed oil. The Greedy Pig will re-open in the Easter holidays and then be open at weekends and in school holidays (weather permitting).
Turning cakes into conservation
Every penny you spend in our shops and cafés goes straight back into helping us protect and look after Attingham and the estate, so that we can keep it open for everyone to enjoy for years to come. Without your support we couldn't do fantastic restoration work like our Through the Roof Project - or put the park back together after the storms at the start of this year. We reckon that's reason enough to treat yourself to a slice of cake on your next visit.
Celebrate in style
For something a bit special, visit Lady Berwick's for afternoon tea. Soak up the atmosphere in the Outer Library and choose from our tempting set menus offering homemade scones, sandwiches and sweet treats.
Time for a treat?
The Carriage House Café in the Stables Courtyard is a great place to stop and have a cake and a cuppa - our savoury snacks, hot and cold drinks and cakes are all available to take away with you and perfect for picnics or one of our parkland walks. It's open daily at 9am so why not pop in for breakfast and try our bacon baps?
Passionate about food? We're looking for a Food Production Manager to join our team and deliver great food and great service. Applications will be open until 13 April 2014, so if you want to develop your career in a fantastic location, we'd love to hear from you.
Shop in the Stables
At the heart of our Stables Courtyard shopping experience is our main shop, with year-round inspiration for gifts and souvenirs. Treat yourself to beautifully themed accessories for your home, pick up exclusive Attingham Park tea towels and mugs, or take home something for tea with a range of jams, chutneys and local ale.
Browse the shelves for a bargain in our second-hand bookshop, and see if you can pick up a new favourite. We welcome donations, so if you'd like to find a new home for your old books please drop them in.
Pick up a plant
Our new plant centre is located in the Stables Courtyard by our main shop: all our plants are locally grown in peat-free compost, and there are seasonal blooms galore to help you brighten up your garden.
The Butler's Pantry
Our Butler's Pantry shop in the mansion evokes the atmosphere and history of life downstairs in a large mansion. There's a superb range of related souvenirs and gifts on offer, so drop by to see what you can discover from 12.30pm daily.
