We've lots going on throughout the week to celebrate the Jubilee.
On 4 June the stable yard will become a hive of activity with our street party.
There'll be a big screen on the lawn for an exclusive Wallace and Gromit mini-animation. And children can join in with an Aardman workshop during the day.

This year we've two theatre productions that will take place on the lawns of Basildon Park.
Pride and Prejudice – 8 July, 7pm
The romantic classic performed by Chapterhouse Theatre Company.Grimms Tales – 20 July, 7pm
Tales of wicked witches, talking animals and dashing adventures. -
British art from the 1950s
British art from the 1950s
Basildon Park has been chosen to exhibit a special selection of art work on loan from the Arts Council.
This isn't a traditional exhibition. The pieces have been carefully placed around the house to be enjoyed within the context of the 18th-century house and 1950s home.
The exhibition runs until 4 November.

We run regular children’s craft workshops throughout the school holidays, usually on a Wednesday.
Our volunteers are always on hand to help you get creative.

Find the Hidden Valley
Enjoy 400 acres of parkland and woodland, with way-marked trails and maps available.
Throughout the year enjoy the changing colours of the landscape. Expect to see snowdrops, bluebells, daffodils and stunning autumn colour.

Our garden team have been working hard to reinstate Lady Iliffe's rose garden.
All the roses have now been planted, and we're all anticipating some lovely floral displays in the years to come.

1950s kitchen
Our 1950s kitchen is a new addition and a real gem. The many kind donations of 1950s items have created a real spot to reminisce.
Volunteers give baking demonstrations on a regular basis, which sends some lovely smells into the house.
Don't forget to pop in on your travels around the house.

Basildon Park is packed full of treasures, but there are some real highlights to look out for as you make your way around the house...
Going outdoors
Expansive countryside surrounds the Basildon Park mansion house with splendid views towards the Thames and the Chilterns. There are 400 acres of garden, parkland and woodland for you to explore.
Taking a tour

Enjoy a guided tour of the house
Join a guided tour of the house. Tours operate between 11am and 12pm on a daily basis. On Tuesdays, guided tours operate all day.
The tickets are given out on a first come, first served basis. They cannot be booked. Please ask on arrival in the ticket office for information.

Join the Friday nature walk
Join our warden or one of our nature volunteers for a free guided walk around the parkland.
The walk set off every Friday from the stable yard at 11am.

Tour the garden
The gardener has written a tour of the garden. Download it before you visit.

Walk around our parkland
We've four self-guided walks in our parkland. They're all clearly sign posted with way-markers. They vary in length and difficulty, with two being suitable for all-terrain buggies.
