The Brockhampton Estate has so many places and activities for you to explore and discover, but when you just need to kick back and relax make sure you venture to our orchards which offer you a haven for true relaxation.

The best spot to while away the day with a book, bring a sketch pad or enjoy a family picnic is amongst our orchards of Shropshire prune damson trees around the manor house and moat.

In spring an explosion of blossom greets you followed by trees laden with damsons, ripe for picking in the autumn.

There are 50 hectares of orchard on the estate, some of which are part of an ongoing restoration project. Over the winter of 2011, a further 75 fruit trees were planted as part of this restoration.

Two rare varieties of wildlife making their home in the orchards are the mistletoe weevil and the noble chafer beetle, can you spot both of them during your visit?

Pick your own

Every year, the estate hosts a pick your own event in early September where visitors can bring a bag and fill up on damsons.

Our damsons are used to make Brockhampton jam in our estate kitchens where our tenant also rustles up chutneys and other fruit preserves to sell in the Granary shop.

Make sure you don't forget to buy some damson treats from the Granary shop to enjoy in your own home.
