Brockhampton manor house was constructed in 1425 which means that throughout 2025 we're celebrating our 600th birthday.
As part of these celebrations our conservation in action series has been inspired by the 'labours of the month' which are illustrated in medieval calendars and depict the everyday tasks of working people.
Here's the items we'll be caring for in our conservation in action series.
25 March: Farming equipment
14 April: Ceramics
22 May: Paintings
25 June: Insects and conservation
21 July: Horse brasses
13 August: Old maps
25 September: Floors
6 October: Fruit picking ladders
4 November: The Buttery
29 December: Guns and traps
If you're interested in medieval history and the conservation of historical objects, you'll have the opportunity to see the House and Collections team working on items in our collection from 11.30am until 1pm on the dates listed below.
