What's on

We’re brimming with ideas for you this autumn. Warm your hands by the fire and watch a fireworks display over the South Downs. Hunt for poisonous plants at Hallowe’en or join our evening Ghost Tour and discover some of the spirits who still dwell in the gardens.

Changing seasons

The temperature is dropping and slowly the trees are beginning to change colour. Autumn is often considered the best month in the garden. Stroll around the garden and find bold dahlias in the sunken garden and apples ripening in the orchard.

Coalport returned

One of Ralph Dutton’s prized possessions has been returned to Hinton Ampner. This exquisite Coalport dining service has been on loan to Dunster Castle. Make sure you drop by the house and be one of the first to see it.

Estate walks

Discover the newly opened Hinton Ampner estate with one of our self-led walks. Pick up a map at Visitor reception or download one before you arrive. Dogs are welcome on our estate walk.

CSI Hinton

Learn about the detective work taking place in the house and how it is being pieced together again, following the devastating damage caused by this winter’s storms.

50 things challenge

Check out our top 10 list of 50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾. Make a home for a wild animal, play conkers or pick an apple straight from a tree. Pick up your scrapbook at visitor reception.
