We are looking forward to welcoming campers to Waterclose Meadows. Please read this page carefully before you visit.

Check-in

As always, our friendly Visitor Welcome Team will be on site ready to welcome you.

It’s important that you arrive between 1pm and 8pm only. If you are staying in a camping pod, please take a look at separate check-in times below.

Late arrivals after 4pm

Please note the main gate locks at 4pm. Campsite arrivals are accepted until 8pm and you’ll find a phone number on the gate that you can call to gain access on arrival.

Pod bookings

Arrival from 3pm-8pm
Departure by 10am

You will find all the information in your welcome folder on arrival.

Facility Block

The main toilets and showers will be closed for cleaning, from 10.30am – 12.30pm. The family and accessible room will remain open while the main toilets are cleaned. However, we ask that no showers are taken during this time. The café toilets will also be open when cleaning is in progress.

Chemical waste facilities

You can find our chemical waste facility for tourers, caravans and campervans at the back of the toilet block.

Motorhome disposal point

There is a drive-in area for motorhomes to deposit waste water in front of the main water point to the right of the facilities block.

Dog wash area

New for 2024, we have an area especially for getting your dog clean after a muddy walk.

Laundry and drying facilities

We have coin-operated machines for washing and drying in the facility block and a small freezer for freezer blocks. The laundry room has a noticeboard where you will find local services information such as bus timetables and tourist information leaflets.

Washing-up areas

To help keep your pots and pans sparkling we have a semi-enclosed pot washing area in the facility block.

The Mill

The Mill is open for pre-bookable tours between March and October. To find out more or to make a tour booking, please visit the web page.

Tearoom

Our tearoom will be open daily between 10am - 4pm.

The riverside area

The river Great Ouse runs past the campsite and Mill. There are portage points to launch canoes and paddleboards through the mill towards Houghton lock. We do not encourage entering the mill pond as there are hidden hazards and dangers. Please check Anglian Waterways webpage for further information.

Overnight parking

Each pitch includes parking space for one car. There is very limited additional parking near reception but any additional vehicles must be approved and paid for in advance.

Our friendly team will be out and about on the site, if you need any help at all during your stay

We look forward to welcoming you.
