At the entrance to the mighty Montacute House is Montacute South Lodge. This stunning gate lodge dates back to the 16th-century and is constructed from local ham stone.

Sip a glass of wine on the terrace, or lounge in South Lodge’s private garden, before heading over to explore the beautiful Montacute House. You and your party can enjoy free entry to this late-Elizabethan treasure as part of your stay. 

The village of Montacute has a fantastic selection of country inns, while a little further afield, the mysterious town of Glastonbury is a charming place to spend an afternoon exploring.

Three bedrooms (2 5' doubles, 1 with en-suite bathroom with electric shower over bath, 1 x twin) family shower room.

Heating: Gas central heating is included at the cottage.

Induction Hob: Please be aware that there is an induction hob at this cottage. Guests with pacemakers are advised to check with their doctor to ensure there will be no interference with their pacemaker. Guests with pacemakers are also advised to keep a distance of at least 60cm (2ft) from the hob when cooking.

Parking: There is parking available for two cars in the Montacute House car park close to the cottage.

Garden: Small private garden at the rear with stone paved terrace.

Utilities/Electricals: The washing machine and tumble dryer are a combined washer/dryer.

*WiFi: This is now available, but please note that intermittent connection problems can sometimes occur and should not be relied upon. We are pleased to provide free WiFi at this cottage which is supported by BT.

Please note: There is no stairgate at this cottage.
