Would you give away your family home for your political beliefs? Sir Richard Acland did just this with his estate. At 2,590 hectares (6,400 acres) it is one of the largest the National Trust has acquired (it includes 20 farms and 200-plus cottages).

Summer in the garden

Killerton parkrun

A free and family friendly 5K run every Saturday. Starting at 9am, join the 200 runners that take part every week. It's not a race, but a timed run organised by volunteers and open for everybody.
