Kids only

Book onto one of our kids only drop off sessions run by our education team. We have three great activities on offer this summer and they are perfect for kids who still want to learn something new while still enjoying the summer holidays.

Parents can enjoy the grounds at their leisure and maybe even squeeze in a cup of coffee in our tea room.

50 things

Track some wild animals in the garden

Summer is a great time for kids to explore the great outdoors, so be sure to take part in our 50 things to do before you're 11 3/4 activities.

Pick up an activity booklet at reception to start your adventure! Once you've ticked off a few activities, don't forget to return to reception to collect your 50 things scrapbook sticker!

Kids activities

Tracker packs are available to borrow from our reception desk, they contain lots of activities and are presented in a small backpack so are easy to transport from one part of the garden to the next.

We also have a range of other children's activities to help inspire your family's visit.

We have something special happening all year round at Mount Stewart, so come along to one of our many events.

This summer enjoy Jazz Sunday (last Sunday of each month until September) and our popular Car Boot Sales (first Saturday of each month until September).

Go walking

Dogs are very welcome at Mount Stewart but must be kept on a lead at all times.

Ice cream!

All this warm weather calls for some ice cream!

Stop by the kiosk and try one of the yummy flavours created by the folks at Glastry Farm.

Our restaurant has been refurbished into a brand new Tea Room and is now open for business selling soup, sandwiches, mouthwatering treats and refreshments.

Take a plant home

At Mount Stewart you can pick up the more unusual species of plants that we grow in our own gardens. They're sure to be a talking point among your family and friends.

The plants for sale are spray-free, and most are grown on the property from our own stock using peat-free compost.

Relax with a book

Since it first opened, our secondhand book shop has grown from a few books on a single table to a proper venue, with shelves displaying a huge selection of books from many genres and areas of interest.

It's stocked entirely with donated books and run by volunteers.

Stop by and pick up a bargain.
