Garden tours

Autumn is a wonderful time to explore the gardens and lake walk as the bright colours of summer fade into beautiful oranges and purples as the leaves start to fall from the trees.

Garden tours are available every weekend until October at 2pm and 3.15pm and last approximately one hour.

Walking is the best way to notice the beautiful colours in the landscape around us. Experience natural magic at Mount Stewart this autumn as the trees around the lake change colour from calming greens and yellows to bright and bold reds and purples.

Take part in the Great NI walk and share what you notice around you by using the hashtag #GreatNIwalk on our social media channels.

Cuddle up with a new book

Our second hand bookshop is located behind the reception area. Since it first opened it has grown from a few books on a table to a proper venue, with shelves displaying the huge selection of books from many areas of interest.

It's stocked entirely with donated books and run by volunteers.

Stop by and pick up a bargain.

Furnish your own garden

Pick up a new plant

Spruce up your own garden with decorative plants and ornaments.

At Mount Stewart you can pick up more unusual species of plants that we grow in our own gardens. They're sure to be a talking point among your family and friends.

The plants for sale are spray-free, and most are grown on the property from our own stock using peat-free compost.

Buying Mount Stewart grown plants helps to support our conservation propagation programme, conserving our collection for future generations.

Free tracker packs to borrow

Tracker packs are available to borrow from our reception desk, they contain lots of Mount Stewart themed activities and are presented in a small backpack so are easy to transport from one part of the garden to the next.
