Run free at Rayleigh Mount

Rayleigh Mount, an oasis in an urban landscape

Rayleigh Mount is in the heart of Rayleigh, a busy Essex town. It provides a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, where traffic noise disappears and is replaced by gentle bird song. The mount is the remains of a Norman motte and bailey castle built on a natural ridge, commanding an amazing view.

Walk on the wild side

Rayleigh Mount could be a set for Sleeping Beauty. The wildlife has taken over where once soldiers roamed. It's an excellent spot to see what creatures are living in the heart of this busy town.
