Spot the grass snakes

A grass snake slithering through the grass

Our gardeners were lucky enough to find a grass snake nest in leaf litter underneath one of our fallen tree trunks. So keep your eyes peeled and don't be afraid as they're harmless and shy, and will quickly slither away.

It's easier to hear than see the shy green woodpecker

Green woodpeckers can be seen throughout our gardens. They're looking for insects on tree bark and searching for ants’ nests. Tweet us if you hear one.

Go batty at Stowe

Come along to Stowe for a completely batty evening with a talk and walk in the gardens. Discover Daubenton bats as they skim over the lakes and pipistrelles flitting between the trees.
