Chedworth Roman Villa was rediscovered by the Victorians over 150 years ago. Leading the way in archaeology and conservation, Chedworth provides a unique insight into life during the Roman period in Britain. If you're planning to visit with a group, let us tailor your visit to help you get the most out of your trip.

When to visit?

We welcome pre-booked groups during open season between February and November, with the exception of bank holiday weekends and some holiday periods.

School groups usually visit in the morning, with other groups preferring to visit in the afternoon when the site is quieter. We have limited parking, so coaches must be booked in advance.

Group visits

We can help make your time here special with a guided tour, from basic to specialist, or led by one of our costumed Roman characters. Whatever your level or area of interest, we can tailor the experience to your group.

A guided tour with one of our experts is one of the best ways to take in the unique history of Chedworth and its significance as one Britain’s grandest villas, so we highly recommend making this part of your visit.
