We Can Do Better - Seanchoiche
Bring your picnic blanket and gather under the stars amidst the historical backdrop of Downhill House for a night of storytelling.
- Booking essential
- Free event
Founded in Dublin, Seanchoíche is a storytelling platform for people to come together and to listen and engage with spoken stories ranging from personal anecdotes, monologues, fictional narratives, poetry and anything in between.
The idea is that you come to the event if you want to hear a good story. You can come just to listen and be a spectator, or if you feel like telling a story, you can volunteer to do so.
Part of We Can Do Better, this special evening will be themed around the subject of ‘conflict’ and up to 8 ordinary people will have the opportunity to share their personal story with the audience.
We will have arranged storytellers on the night, but if you get the urge to stand up and tell a story when you're at the event on the night, you are welcome to do so. Storytellers can contact n.kerr@nerveentre.org to let us know if they are volunteering prior to the event.
Seanchoíche is a safe space — an event filled with empathy, catharsis, laughter, tears and joy.
For some people, it’s their first time ever speaking in front of a crowd. For others, it’s an opportunity to try out their creative juices and see how a crowd reacts to their story, comedy, poetry, or spoken word.
