Quiet Day on Orford Ness
This quiet day provides a flexible environment where we’ll be restricting vehicle movements to quiet electric vehicles and bicycles, turning off interactive displays, reducing radio use and lowering levels of lighting where possible.
- Booking essential
Orford Ness is a great place to experience the peace and tranquillity of the Suffolk Coast, but even here there can be noises that can cause sensory overload for visitors who need or prefer a quiet environment when they visit.
Sensory packs including toys and ear defenders will be available from the Quay Office and the secondhand bookshop. There will be a quiet indoor space out of the elements in Battery Store with bench seating outside for quiet reflection.
Ferries onto Orford Ness will run every 20 minutes between 10am and 2pm, with return ferries running all day up until the site closes at 5pm.
