Clandon Park’s house and gardens are now closed for the winter months. You can come and visit us again in the spring of 2024.

In 2015 a huge fire ripped through the Palladian mansion, destroying the upper floors and roof, and gutting the house. But the strong brick walls survived, and today Clandon Park is cloaked in scaffolding, sheltered from the wind and rain.

Whilst the scaffolding provides protection for the building it doesn’t provide us with the ability to heat the site and keep you warm, and so we close Clandon Park each year from November until mid-March when the spring sunshine arrives.

In March 2024, the garden will reopen as a small green space for our local community. You can visit every day between 11am and 4pm. There’s no need to book a ticket, but parking is limited. The house, visitor reception and toilets will remain closed. There may be some disruption to our timetables when the first stages of construction work begin.

If you’re planning on visiting us in 2024, please keep an eye on this website for the latest information on the project progress and our opening times page, both of which will be updated regularly.
