The Welcome Café

Located at the top of the garden, right by the entrance, the café serves tempting treats and hot and cold meals throughout the day with indoor and outdoor seating.

The licensed café offers brunch between 10am and 12 noon, as well as light meals, one pots and hot snacks (vegan and vegetarian choices are available). This is where you'll find our full menu which is served from 12 noon - 2.30pm, with food delivered to your table. Last orders are taken 15 minutes before closing.

For younger visitors, we have hot meals and a children's pick 'n' mix selection. Lighter snacks made with seasonal produce are also on offer and you can rely on a deliciously tempting array of cakes and ice creams.

Environmentally friendly products

We're using reusable takeaway cups and a range of disposables which are plant-based, low-carbon products made from renewable and recycled material. These items are fully compostable.

The Riding House

Now converted into a second cafe, the Riding House next to the mansion at the heart of the garden is open each day from 11am to 3pm (last orders 2.45pm) for wholesome sandwiches, fresh cakes, hot and cold light meals and a selection of drinks. There is space outside too with plenty of tables in the courtyard in front of the house.

With modern facilities and a contemporary atmosphere, the Riding House incorporates elements of the original historic building. Enjoy the relaxed barn like interior with cosy seating and views across the fields and woods from the mezzanine.

Please be aware that The Riding House is bookable for groups and events, so when you visit, some or all of the area may be unavailable. For booking enquiries, please email: guy.marston@nationaltrust.org.uk

To hire the mezzanine space for weddings, wakes or larger events please contact sophie.sherriff@nationaltrust.org.uk or give her a call on 07732 063906

The Horsebox

The Horsebox is open seasonally and you can find it in the Riding House courtyard where it offers takeaway hot and cold drinks, sweet treats and ice creams.

The Ice Cream Kiosk

The ice cream kiosk is open seasonally and located just outside our Welcome Café, within the Tea Garden. Find delicious Judes ice cream with unique flavours to tempt you.
