Help us look after our wildlife

We hope you enjoy the new walks that have been created. If you would like to engage with nature recovery a bit more there are a few things you can do. All the apps mentioned on can be downloaded for free.

FIT counts

If you are walking between 1st April and 30th September and the weather is fine please help us monitor pollinators by doing a FIT Count. This will help us understand how pollinator numbers change as the project develops. These counts are great fun for all ages so we really hope families will get involved.

Butterfly spotting on iRecord

If you see butterflies on your walk, please help us monitor them by  using the iRecord butterfly App.  This app helps with identification and tells you what is flying in the area at that time.

General wildlife highlights

Please let us know about anything you see that you think is of interest when you are out and about. The iRecord App also allows you to provide records to National Databases that we will be able to see.

Beautiful birdsong

If you are interested in identifying the birds you hear why not download the excellent Merlin bird app and listen for what’s around
