Discover stories and secrets behind the 'world-class' Chippendale collection at Nostell

It’s Thomas Chippendale’s birthday on 5 June and, to celebrate the life and work of arguably the most influential furniture-maker Britain has ever produced, our team of knowledgeable volunteers are hosting guided tours of the house every day of his birthday week.

Thomas Chippendale (1718–1779) supplied over 100 items to the house at Nostell, ranging from a simple chopping block to entire rooms in the latest Chinese fashion.

This 45-minute tour looks at Thomas Chippendale, his life, work and insights into the Nostell collection.

Pre-book your place or drop in on the day for remaining tickets.

Chippendale guided tours run every day from Monday 3 June until Friday 7 June from 10:45am. The tours are free but usual admission for the house applies.
