Civil War Re-enactment

A dramatic re-enactment of 'The Betrayal', portraying the events of 1646 when the castle was finally taken.

Step back in time with The English Civil War Society as they garrison the Castle and go about their daily life. Watch Lady Bankes dine with her friends as her cooks busy themselves preparing the food.

On your visit you can train with the soldiers, see up close the costumes, armour and weapons.

Will the garrison be able to beat off the enemy attacks?
