Group minibuses welcome or why not come by boat?

Vehicle access for groups visiting Wray Castle is by minibus only as the roads around are not suitable for coaches. If you have a large group you could consider travelling to the castle by boat from Waterhead. Feel free to contact us for more information.

    Handbook correction

    Our 2013 handbook for members

Sorry but the summary handbook road directions for Wray Castle from Ambleside inadvertently give the wrong road number  i.e. B5285 instead of B5286. Please see correct directions shown above.

    Cross Lakes Experience

Use the Cross Lakes Experience to visit the west side of Lake Windermere without the car. With boat and bus you can visit all our local properties and save money on entry and shopping at Wray Castle.

    New bike-boat transport

A new bike-carrying boat service this summer linking Brockhole with Wray Castle jetty is ideal for exploring the tracks round Claife and Wray Castle.
