Early years & Key Stage 1
We have three activity sessions for younger children.
Sir Edward's Feast : enjoy a castle tour, role play, dressing up and an introduction to medieval food & drink and toys & games. £3.50 per child
A Knight's Tale is the story of Sir Ralph. Join him to find out about armour and knights and have a go at piecing together a suit or armour and trying some on. £3.00 per child
Bertie the Bat takes a different view of the castle through the eyes of one of our residents with a castle tour, story and craft activities. £3.00 per child
Key Stages 2 - 4
We have two sessions for Key Stage 2 and 3 children aged 6 and over. A 'Guided Tour' looks at the attack and defense features of the castle, whilst also revealing the many hidden luxuries this 14th century home held.
Our aptly named armour session, 'Armed & Dangerous' takes a look at medieval warfare. Take an inside look at a medieval army, at their armour, combat skills and code of conduct before trying on some of our armour collection.
Each session costs £3.00 per child or enjoy both for £5.50 per child.
For GCSE and A Level students we offer bespoke tours.
Larger group activity days
For larger education groups (60+ students), we enlist the services of Happening History to provide larger scale hands-on activity days. These days are always popular and book out quickly, please call 01580 831324 if you are interested in booking one of these sessions.
