Back with a bang and bigger than ever, Summer of Play returns to Bodiam Castle for a season filled with fun and adventure.
Enjoy medieval-inspired games like castle building, hobby horse racing, and quoits, master circus skills, or join our Knight and Viking School led by professional performers. Best of all, it’s all included with normal admission.
Summer of Play offers fun for all ages, with most games and activities ideal for families with children aged 5 to 11. Some activities, such as soft-play archery, are better suited for children aged 8 to 15.

- Meeting point
The Mill Pond is the first area you get to as you enter the grounds from the car park.
- What to bring and wear
Please wear clothing suitable for the weather as this is a mainly outdoor trail.
- Accessibility
The route to the Mill Pond is over gravelled paths. Some areas of the castle are not accessible by wheelchair. Please see the access information at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/bodiamcastle
