There's something for everyone who wants to volunteer

There's something for everyone who wants to volunteer

We want everyone to have a brilliant National Trust experience, get involved with fun activities and learn new things with every visit.

By volunteering here, in everything from the house to catering, you’ll help us do just that. You’ll enjoy some great benefits too, including free entry to all National Trust places.

With Lyme Park's variety and size, no day will ever be the same. You'll meet new people, gain new skills and experience a whole new side of Lyme Park. With just under 1,400 acres of parkland, the grand Lyme Hall and it's beautiful gardens, we certainly needs a lot of helping hands.

How to join us:

The roles are flexible - you can help us from just once a fortnight to several days a week. If you feel you have valuable skills that Lyme could use get in touch by emailing lymepark@nationaltrust.org.uk, or give us a ring on 01663 762023. We also hold open days throughout the year, or just pop in for a chat with the team.

Catering assistants provide a warm and inviting experience, from welcoming visitors to serving food and drink in a prompt, efficient and pleasant manner.

Garden volunteer

There is always something to be done in the gardens, all year round, from planting bulbs to welcoming visitors, you can meet new people and help to maintain a beautiful and historic garden for everybody to enjoy.

Raffle Volunteer

Distant View of the South Front of Lyme Park

Raffle volunteers spend time in the house, garden and park selling raffle tickets to visitors. Their work helps raise funds for conservation work such as restoring the Chapel at the property.

Conservation

Conservation volunteers help the Rangers preserve the natural environment at Lyme Park. They work across the estate and perform a wide range of tasks from rebuilding dry stone walls to maintaining woodland.
