South West Outdoor Festival 2017 is taking place 8-10 September on the edge of Cheddar Gorge, amid the wild terrain of the Mendip Hills

Sout West Outdoor Festival is a celebration of outdoor adventure in all its many amazing guises. There's chance to hike and bike, kayak and canoe, kayaking, camp, climb, cave and run. You can eve try your hand at archery, axe throwing and skiing. The festival also features live music, films, fine food and guest speakers. Hosted by the National Trust, in partnership with Cotswold Outdoor and the Mendip Hills AONB, it’s an inclusive event, with challenges, experiences and entertainment for people of all ages and ability levels. The South West Outdoor Festival is taking place on impressive Cheddar Gorge. The Gorge provides challenging landscape to test your endurance and enchanting views to reward your efforts in the evening. There's places for those looking for an adventure to try climbing in this iconic location, wild running and challenging cycle trails. It's also a great place to relax. With dramatic scenery to explore and sweeping views of the Gorge and across the Mendip Hills, it's a top spot for wildlife spotting.
