Our guided estate walks offer an insightful introduction to the Hoare family and the Stourhead estate, plus seasonal interest. Each walk is tailored to showcase the best parts of the estate depending on the month and season, full details on this can be found below. Walks start at 11am and take approximately two hours, taking place on the last Friday of each month from March to October.
Friday 29 April - this walk will take us through Bonham Wood which is well known for its jubilant bluebells at this time of year.
Friday 27 May - this walk will take us up to King Alfred's Tower and will focus on estate and woodland management and wildlife.
Friday 24 June - this walk will take us up to Whitesheet Hill and will focus on archaeology, butterflies and wildflowers.
Friday 29 July - this walk will take us up to Park Hill Camp and will focus on estate and woodland management and wildlife.
Friday 26 August - this walk will take us up to King Alfred's Tower and will focus on estate and woodland management and wildlife.
Friday 30 September - this walk will take us up to Whitesheet Hill and will focus on archaeology, butterflies and wildflowers.
Friday 28 October - this walk will take us through Bonham Wood and will focus on the autumnal colours we can see across the estate.
