Come and learn about and have a go at detecting the 8 different species of bat that call Gibside their home.

When darkness falls the many bats which roost in our historic buildings come out to feed. Join us for a guided bat walk around the estate starting with a short talk about tracking, recording and identifying bats.Young visitors can tick off number 40 of their 50 things to do before you're 11 ¾ by taking part in this night time nature walk. Afterwards, enjoy coffee and cake and a chance to chat to our ranger team.
