Founded in 2006, the Friends of Standen Estate (FOSE) are a group of National Trust garden and woodland volunteers and staff at Standen.

Our aims are to actively promote the work of the Standen Estate; provide and promote engagement, through physical and intellectual access; to preserve, promote and develop traditional countryside and horticultural crafts; and to promote social activities to make volunteering more enjoyable.

We do this by encouraging volunteering and by tapping sources of funds additional to those available to the National Trust to provide training, tools and materials for the volunteers.

Being a National Trust volunteer is a wonderful way to learn new skills, meet new people and get some healthy outdoor exercise.

Whether you enjoy detailed gardening work, major scrub clearance, planning for large projects or anything in between there will be something to suit you at Standen.

You can find details of our membership and information about our current activities on our independent site - the link is below.
