About Bodrugan

A former stone barn nestled in the Cornish countryside.

Bodrugan, and neighboring Edgcumbe, are traditional stone barns on the edge of the old farming hamlet of Penare, now converted into spacious and comfortable accommodation. The cottage has a living room on the first floor making the most of the views over the countryside and farmland, and a secluded, private garden.

A must see is Dodman Point, the highest point in South Cornwall, it’s a haven for walkers, bird-watchers and budding archaeologists alike, you can walk here from the cottage and take in the spectacular views.  Also close by are Vault and Hemmick, both spots are perfect for lazy beach day.  Take a trip to Gorran Haven and you can explore the unspoilt fishing village nestling around a cluster of fisherman cottages and a secluded cove.

Visit nearby Trerice, Trellissick Gardens and Lanhydrock and explore the places in our care. Or, if walking is more your thing, join up with the South West Coast Path for some of the best rambling in the country.

About the Acorn rating

We have applied a 1-5 acorn rating to each cottage to be used only as a guide that covers location, style of interior and facilities you may be looking for. The range runs from 1 Acorn at a more basic level such as Bird How which due to its stunning yet remote location doesn’t have a caretaker through to 5 Acorns at the highest level – such as Shute Barton.

Cottage pricing is not judged on the Acorn rating alone and as all our cottages are of an individual nature we recommend that all factors are considered when making your choice.
