Snowdrop community plant

Snowdrops under a yew tree by Dyffryn House

Become a part of our beautiful gardens and plant one of our 10,000 snowdrops to create a blanket of winter blooms for visitors to enjoy in years to come.

Plant a snowdrop

Tuesday 14, Tuesday 21, Tuesday 28 February
11am - 1pm

Over two weeks in February we will be planting 10,000 snowdrops to create a beautiful snowdrop walk and we are inviting you to help.

Last year we planted 10,000 in celebration of our 110th year and we will be doing the same next year. You can see some of last year's poking their heads out around the gardens now.

How you can get involved

Upon arrival at Visitor's Reception, you will be guided towards the best area for planting, which will be determined by our gardeners on the day. The snowdrop planting will be led by our volunteers who will be able to provide guidance and give tools and materials needed.

On each day of planting, we will also be accepting donations for the restoration of one of the biggest features here at Dyffryn Gardens.

Donations

Previous visitors to our gardens will have noticed that the fountain at the south end of the great lawn has lain empty for many years with great potential to become an incredible feature for everyone to enjoy. We need to raise a whopping £75,000 to do this and with your help, we will be able to restore this fountain back to its former glory and reintroduce the sound of running water to the gardens.
