The Riverside Cottages nestles on the banks of the River Thames within the Cliveden Estate. Packed with charm, the cottages boast a bright and modern interior with beautiful views over the river.
Make the most of your location and enjoy being part of the Cliveden estate. Explore the stately home, built for the Duke of Buckingham in 1666 and home to the Astor family until 1966. As a guest, you are welcome to follow in the footsteps of dukes, earls, kings and queens as you stroll through the impressive gardens and woodlands – even after closing!
The Riverside Cottages are conveniently located 14miles from Heathrow Airport and benefits from its close proximity to Windsor, Henley-on-Thames, The Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and to a variety of other National Trust properties. Enjoy days of sightseeing or explore our estate before retiring to the cottage for a tranquil evening by the River.

These cottages all have slightly different features and facilities, but those listed are present in at least one of the cottages in the group.
These cottages are perfect for a group holiday where guests can also enjoy their own space. There is an interconnecting door between these cottages, please note however that there may not be enough seating for the whole party in the communal areas.

Garden: The gardens have entered an exciting new era as the garden team, who care for the grade 1 listed gardens of the Cliveden Estate, have be taken on the maintenance and renovation of The Riverside Cottages. Through consultation with our Curator and Cottage Team, the garden will be restored to compliment the cottage garden style of the Arts and Crafts movement. Maintenance will take place every Thursday, between the hours of 11am and 3pm, with planting beginning in the winter months. Minimal disruption to our guests will be assured. For any enquiries please contact the Booking Office.
Log Burners: For the guests benefit, firewood is provided for the first evening. Firewood can then be purchased on site from October to March, during Estate opening hours, at the Information Kiosk.
Offers: Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout of 4pm at this cottage (if last day of stay is a Sunday).
Please note:
As part of the boating offer at Cliveden self-drive hire motor and rowing boats operate from the landing stage of the Cliveden ferry, approximately 30 metres from Ferry Cottage. Days and operating times vary and are subject to weather conditions. The river path is a public footpath.
This cottage is located within the Cliveden Estate. Additional day visitors to the cottage will have to pay the full Cliveden entrance fee.
