- Located north of A30, about 2 miles east of the junction with A338. Note, the track to the car park is unsuitable to low chassis vehicles.

- Monarch's Way runs along the south-western edge of the site, from Winterbourne Dauntsey to Middle Winterslow. Landranger map sheet 184

Highlights
Hill fort
The outer rampart and ditch was constructed in the Iron Age, the inner bank and ditch is thought to be Neolithic, about 2000 years earlier.
Wild flowers
There is a good display of wild flowers in spring and summer. Look out for fragrant orchid and the elusive frog orchid in late June.
Butterflies
The chalk grassland provides habitat for many invertebrates, there is a notable population of Adonis blue butterflies seen in May and August.
Skylarks
From the mid-spring until mid-summer the sound of skylarks fills the air. They make their nest on the ground, in the long grass in the centre of the hill fort.

Figsbury Ring
Figsbury Ring is home to an unusually designed Iron Age hillfort, containing a smaller, possibly Neolithic, enclosure. Views from the ramparts reach over Salisbury Plain, Old Sarum and Salisbury Cathedral. The ramparts also act as a refuge for unusual plants including orchids.
