Santa Experience

We all know that Father Christmas likes to spend time in magical places so he loves to visit Castle Ward, Downhill Demesne, Mount Stewart, Castle Coole and The Argory every year. It wouldn't be Christmas without a chance to meet Santa so make sure to prebook your visit in advance.

Castle Coole are also offering Silent Santa Sessions. With a more relaxed atmosphere, less noise and a lower volume of festive music, these experiences are ideal for those families with additional needs.

Seasonal Storytelling

Castle Ward, Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 December, various times

Take your little ones on a trail through our gardens to meet Santa and Mrs Claus in the mansion house. Booking essential.

Castle Ward, Saturday 21 December, 7pm

Hear the classic story of Ebeneezer Scrooge as you experience ‘A Christmas Carol’ as you never have before. Booking essential.

Christmas Markets and Fairs

Step into a world of festive delights as you stroll around our Christmas markets and winter fairs. Pick up the perfect Christmas gift as you enjoy the perfect festive day out. Browse handcrafted pieces that make unique gifts or festive additions to your home. Soaking up the seasonal sights and sounds, indulge in traditional treats with family and friends.

The Argory, Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December

See the house decorated for Christmas as you browse the craft, food and drink stalls and soak up the traditional festive entertainment.

Rowallane Garden, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 December

Feast on the festive atmosphere as you wander around the many craft and food stalls at the Yuletide Market. Pick up a Christmas wreath to adorn your door handmade by the Rowallane gardening team. You might even bump into Santa himself! at this weekend of festive fun.

Festive film fun

Rowallane Garden, Saturday 16 and 23 and Sunday 17 and 24 November, 2-4pm

Sip on a warming hot chocolate as you smile through a feel-good festive favourite. Warm up for Christmas with family and friends at our pop-up screenings of a yuletide classic in the Barn. Treat yourself to hot chocolate and popcorn - it is Christmas!

Gingerbread Man Decorating

Rowallane Garden, Saturday 14 - Tuesday 24 December, 11am - 2pm

Round off a visit to Rowallane Garden with a visit to the cafe where your little elves can use their crafting skills to decorate a scrumptious festive gingerbread man.

Classic Christmas Carols

Castle Coole, Friday 6 and Saturday 7 December, 8-10pm

Experience a magical Christmas evening in the Grand Hall with festive music and classic Christmas carols from the talented Fermanagh Choral Society. Enjoy a glass of wine in the Breakfast Room in-front of the fire.

Downhill Demesne, Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 December, 7-9pm

Listen to classic Christmas carols from the local choral society inside the stunning Mussenden Temple.

Seasonal Craft Workshops

Mount Stewart, Thursday 21 November, 6-9pm

Take the stress out of Christmas shopping with the ultimate Christmas evening. Combine a relaxing crafts experience with a delicious festive supper, glass of mulled wine and 10% off in our shop, and you’ve got Christmas all wrapped up.

Talented local Sisters Sheila and Stephanie from Dasalee Textiles will begin this creative evening with a demonstration of their unique textile art that will end with you creating your own seasonal craft. This is a step-by-step workshop with no previous experience required. Booking essential.

Downhill Demesne, Wednesday 18 to Friday 20 December

Adorn your door for Christmas by creating your own wreath. Talented gardener Don and his merry volunteers will show you how to create your own natural Christmas wreath using the fabulous foliage from the gardens. Booking essential.

Christmas Murder Mystery Evenings

Castle Ward Friday 13 and Saturday 14 December, 8.30pm

Death comes to Castle Ward. Can you work out 'whodunit' at our Christmas murder mystery evenings? Meet the cast of characters in the candlelit mansion house and retire to the tea-room to deliberate over festive refreshments when will be revealed!
