It wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit to The Argory. Christmas at The Argory is all about the excitement of reviving festive traditions and sharing precious moments with loved ones. Unwrap a classic Christmas with festive experiences as you step back in time to a Yuletide of yesteryear. Take a trip to meet Santa and his elves in the grotto only on the 6 & 7 December at our Christmas Fair.

Twilight Market at The Argory 

Friday 5 December: 4pm-7pm

Kick off the festive season at The Argory’s Twilight Christmas Market! Join us on Friday, 5 December, from 4pm-7pm to shop from talented local artisans offering unique handmade gifts, crafts, and festive foods. Stroll through charming stalls filled with jewelry, candles, and treats, all crafted with care.

Enjoy the holiday magic in the beautifully decorated Victorian mansion, adorned with trees, garlands, and a Christmas-ready dining table. Warm up with hot chocolate or tasty bites from our café and food vendors.

Normal admission applies for non-members. Members, bring your membership cards.

Christmas Fair

Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 December: 11am - 8pm

The Christmas Fair will return to The Argory, bigger, better and more festive than ever before, with live music, food and craft stalls and plenty of opportunities to tick off that Christmas gift list with unique locally made finds.

Featuring a variety of local craft, food and drink stalls, as well as festive entertainment. Soak up the wonderful atmosphere and see the house decorated for Christmas.

Families will also have the chance to meet Santa and his elves in the grotto on the 6 & 7 December.

Experience Christmas of yesteryear

29 November - 31 Dec (12pm - 4pm)

This festive season, step into a traditional Christmas at the house, beautifully adorned with trees, garlands, and holiday trinkets. The dining table will be elegantly set for a celebratory feast, bringing history to life.

Winter walks at The Argory

Discover the beauty of The Argory stripped bare by winter and full of life as busy woodland residents emerge – look out for winter wildlife in the branches, gathering fodder for their winter feasts. You'll also spot red robins with their feathers fluffed up against the cold, and now is the perfect time of year to spot kingfishers perched above the river.

Snowdrops at The Argory

Snowdrops are a striking bloom in winter months when little else is growing. A walk through a blanket of these small, white, bell-shaped flowers is a seasonal pleasure for many.
