We look after lots of amazing outdoor places and spaces that are perfect for exploring with your dog. Here are our top spots for dog walking in Northern Ireland...

Our top dog-friendly places in Northern Ireland

We welcome dogs on leads into all your favourite National Trust places across Northern Ireland including Mount Stewart and Castle Ward.

Dogs love playing on the sand, so why not take your four-legged friends for a walk on the beach at Portstewart Strand or Murlough Nature Reserve

Explore the walking trails with your dog at Divis and the Black Mountain and enjoy spectacular panoramic views over Belfast. Or wander through the meadow and woodland walks at Minnowburn, Downhill Demesne or Castle Coole.

There are also a number of places where your dog can go wild.  Let your dog off their lead at the training area at Mount Stewart (opposite car park 2) or at the dog exercise area at Rowallane Garden.

Dog-friendly cottages are perfect for a holiday with man’s best friend.  ‘The Potter's Cottage’ is a quaint single storey cottage in a corner of the Castle Ward demesne which your dog is bound to love.

Dog friendly Castle Ward

Castle Ward is a haven for dog walkers. Dogs on leads please unless you're in our dog exercise field where Fido is free to roam.

Castle Coole is the perfect place for you and your dog

Canine companions at Castle Coole

There is plenty for both you and your dog to enjoy at Castle Coole, with a variety of walks within the parkland and plenty of outdoor seating.

Visiting Mount Stewart with your dog

Mount Stewart has always been a place where dogs can enjoy themselves. Dogs lived here alongside the Londonderry family, and we want to continue the tradition of welcoming responsible dog owners to Mount Stewart.
