About Malham weekend rangerHelp our rangers look after Malham Tarn.
Spend a weekend helping rangers around the Malham Tarn area of the Yorkshire Dales. There is plenty to do with a range of tasks to get stuck into. You could be painting iron boundary fences, removing willow scrub, getting muddy clearing ponds or planting trees. Whatever the weather you’ll have fun and make new friends. There is lots to do and it is a great chance to see parts of this area you may not have visited before.
About the accommodation
The accommodation is located on the edge of the village of Buckden and at the foot of 702m high Buckden Pike. It is a 200-year-old converted barn with a large living room with open views up to Wharfedale into Langstrothdale. It is an ‘upside down’ building with the living room, kitchen and one bunk room on the first floor and two bunk rooms and bathroom on the ground floor. Each bunk room has two bunk beds. One is en suite, the other two share a bathroom/toilet. Town Head Bunkhouse does not have a garden next to the building but there is a National Trust picnic area with a built-in barbecue just 100 yards away.
